Myth to Modern: A Norse Artist’s Journey Aric Jorn blends his passion for history with storytelling through sculptures that bring Norse mythology to life. His work focuses on Viking Age culture, aiming to clear up common myths and misconceptions. Every piece starts with careful research, then gets transformed through his unique artistic style to show how these ancient stories still matter today. He wants his art to spark curiosity about the past and encourage people to dig deeper into history. Recognition and Techniques Art collectors recognize Aric for his detailed “layered reliefs” and intricate standalone sculptures. His Mini Myth Collection features over 80 small figures, each standing two to three inches tall and representing Norse gods, heroes, or mythical creatures. His newest work, Viking Artifacts, shows reliefs of Viking Age weapons like decorated swords, spears, and axes that look like fresh archaeological discoveries. Though he studied illustration and art history in college, Aric taught himself sculpture after opening his studio in 2015. His work has gained attention through interviews with Norse experts, PBS features, and a major commission from Viking® for an international media event.
